Class Structures and Year Split

After 2 years in Key Stage 1 children move onto Key Stage 2 (KS2). The term “Key Stage 2” is used to describe the four years of schooling after Key Stage 1. Children in Key Stage 2 are split into year groups known as Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 & Year 6. Children in Year 3 are usually 7 or 8 years old whilst children in Year 6 are usually 10 or 11 years old.

Class 6 contains Year 3 pupils.
Class 7 contains Year 4 pupils
Class 8 contains Year 4 & 5 pupils. Year 5 pupils will join class 11 for some foundation subject teaching.

Assessment and Reporting

All children are continually assessed and parents are informed of their child’s progress at Parents Evenings and in a written report at the end of each school year.
