Mr Duffy is the pupil premium designated governor; he reviews the pupil premium strategy regularly and gives feedback to the school governing body.
Pupil Premium Funding (PPF) is a government initiative that targets extra funding at pupils from deprived backgrounds. Research shows that pupils from deprived backgrounds underachieve compared to their non-deprived peers. The premium is provided to enable these pupils to be supported to reach their potential. The Government has used pupils entitled to free school meals (FSM), looked after children and service children as indicators of deprivation, and have provided a fixed amount of money for schools per pupil based on the number of pupils registered for FSM over a rolling six-year period.
We will ensure that:
We will ensure that:
-All staff are involved in the analysis of school data so that they are fully aware of strengths and weaknesses across the school
-We use research (such as the Education Endowment Fund) to support us in determining the strategies that will be most effective in closing the gap and raising attainment and progress of our children
We will ensure that:
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will be offered a universal free school meal. Parents and carers who receive the qualifying benefits listed above should still make an application for free school meals. This is because your school can get additional government funding dependent on the number of children that qualify for statutory free school meals (based on your entitlement to certain benefits and awards).
Please claim even if your child does not wish to take a free meal.
You can apply online as part of your initial claim for housing benefit / council tax reduction or you can complete the separate free school meals application form. We will check you eligibility to claim free school meals electronically so you will not normally need to provide supporting evidence.
If you are successful we will write to you informing you of the decision. We will also notify your child's school.
