At Rainford CE Primary School, nurturing the spiritual development of every child is at the heart of our school community. Throughout the school, we have created a variety of dedicated prayer and reflection spaces where children can pause, pray, reflect, or simply enjoy a moment of peace and stillness during their day.
Rooted in our Christian Values, these spaces encourage children to explore their thoughts, feelings and faith in a way that is meaningful to them. Through our classroom reflection areas, outdoor prayer spaces and themed prayer activities linked to Collective Worship, all children are given opportunities to engage with spirituality, deepen their understanding of our values and spend time in personal reflection whenever they feel the need.
One of our most special reflection areas is our recently created prayer space dedicated to the memory of Mrs Barton, a much-loved member of our school family. This peaceful space provides a place for children and staff to remember, reflect and find comfort, while celebrating the kindness, care and joy that Mrs Barton brought to our school community.
Our youngest children in Sunbeams begin their spiritual journey through regular opportunities for worship and reflection. Each week, they visit church to take part in Tots Worship, helping them to develop a strong connection with our parish community from an early age.
Within their prayer space, children can find photographs of Rev Janet and our local church, reminding them of these special worship experiences and encouraging them to reflect on what they have learnt and experienced during their visits.
