  • Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

At Rainford CE School, we celebrate the unique identity, strengths and contributions of every member of our school family. Our Equality Code reflects our commitment to creating a welcoming community where everyone is valued, treated fairly and encouraged to achieve their best in the Love of God. Through kindness, respect and understanding, we celebrate both what makes us different and everything that brings us together. We teach the children about the 9 protected characteristics through our PSHE curriculum and throughout our daily worships.

Under the Equality Act 2010, we welcome our general duty to:

    • Eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation and any other conduct prohibited by The Equality Act 2010.
    • Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and people who do not share it.
    • Foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and people who do not share it.

We recognise our specific duties which aim to assist us in meeting our general duty –

    • To annually publish information on how we are complying with the Equality Duty, including to publish information on our school population.
    • To publish equality objectives every four years, which show how we plan to tackle particular inequalities and reduce or remove them.

    Our School Population

At Rainford CE Primary School, we believe that diversity is a strength that should be respected and celebrated by all those who learn, teach and visit here. Our school is a Church of England Primary School. However, we welcome children from all backgrounds, abilities, races and religions.
