Our RE curriculum reflects the rich tapestry of beliefs found in our local community and across the globe. Pupils learn about Christianity, Hindu Dharma, Islam, Judaism, Sikhism, and Buddhism—building respect and understanding for different ways of life.
Children ask big questions like:
• “Who should we follow?”
• “Is life like a journey?”
These questions help them explore values, beliefs, and traditions from multiple perspectives.
We use the Mirror–Window–Door approach:
By learning about different faiths and world-views, pupils develop:
Our RE lessons are inclusive and ambitious, supporting all learners—including those with SEND and EAL—so every child can thrive and grow in understanding.
We use the Lancashire Agreed Syllabus.
Parents/carers have the right to withdraw their children from all or part of the Religious Education in accordance with Schedule 19 of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998. However, we hope that all parents will feel comfortable with the type of Religious Education being taught in our school.
In the first instance, parents who may wish to exercise this right should make an appointment with the Headteacher, who will explore any concerns and discuss any impact that withdrawal may have on the child.
