Educate Awards Successes
Our choir performed last night at the 2016 "Educate Awards" and the children were simply amazing. Singing as part of a "Super Choir" made up of nine regional schools, Rainford C.E. was representing St. Helens and the school did us all proud. Many thanks go out to the staff and parents who helped to prepare the children for the event.Singing so professionally in the setting of Liverpool's beautiful Anglican Cathedral will be something the children can remember for the rest of their lives.
The evening then continued to go well for the school, as we were named overall winners in the "Outstanding Teaching of Life Skills" category. The school was praised for its approach to mental well-being and the value of the learning mentor, as well as giving the children all-round skills linked to such areas as money management, food preparation and dealing with worries. The judges commented that we had an "excellent, thorough and well-rounded approach" to the teaching of life skills in school.
This award is a recognition of the outstanding teaching taking place in the area of pupil well-being, and the fact that our choir members were so confident, professional and positive during their performances last night totally supports this.
Well done, Everyone!
