Teaching and Learning Review

The school organised a teaching and learning review with St Helens Teaching Alliance in order to celebrate our strengths and highlight areas we could further improve.

Here are some of the comments the team gave:

There is a distinctive Christian ethos around the school with specific areas for reflection.

Spiritual, moral and social development is promoted exceptionally well and the school is currently working on more intense development of cultural understanding.

Behaviour management is highly effective.

The leadership team have highlighted the correct areas for school development.

Marking comments are generally very constructive and clear work has taken place regarding this.

There are many opportunities for writing in foundation subjects, particularly in R.E.

Support staff are generally deployed effectively to ensure pupils are engaged in their learning and can access it.

Teachers have excellent subject knowledge and provide challenging activities for pupils.

Learning environments are attractive and well organised.

In the foundation stage, there are exciting teacher inputs and confident children.  It was clear that staff have already built up good relationships with children and know how to get the best out of them.

Well done to all our staff and children for all their hard work on a day to day basis which is clear to any visitors to the school.
