Support for Parents - Update from the SENDCo

A Message from the SENDCo

Last night, several members of school staff received ELKLAN speech and language training. Following this training, I spoke to our school's speech therapist about how parents can also access support and advice for their children. She has asked me to signpost our parents to the "Bridgewater NHS" website. By following the links for "St. Helens", then looking under the "Children's Speech and Language Service" tab, parents can find a range of leaflets, forms and details on the services on offer.

I am also hoping to invite more professionals from outside agencies into school to meet with parents and to work alongside parents and the SEND team, possibly through our SEND drop-in sessions. If you have any ideas about the kind of support you would like, please come and see me in school to discuss this. Our school nurse has already agreed to attend some of the sessions to support parents around health issues, and I am awaiting a response from a parental support agency regarding their representation at one of the sessions.

Thank you to all our parents for your continued support.
