RISE Curriculum at Rainford CE Primary

At Rainford CE Primary, our RISE Curriculum—Rooted in Social and Emotional learning—is designed to nurture the whole child through a carefully sequenced PSHE programme from Year 1 to Year 6. Through themes of Health and Well-being, Relationships, and Living in the Wider Community, pupils explore key life skills that promote emotional literacy, resilience, and responsible citizenship.

We deliver the Barnardo’s PATHS programme across Key Stage 1, which supports emotional regulation, friendship skills, and problem-solving through structured, age-appropriate lessons. As pupils progress, they engage in wider enrichment experiences such as Safety Day, Safer Internet Day, Career and Aspiration Day, and Money Matters Day—ensuring that our curriculum reflects real-world relevance and Christian values of love, perseverance, and justice.

Our RISE Curriculum empowers children to flourish socially, emotionally, and spiritually, preparing them to live life in all its fullness.
