Spirituality

Spirituality at Rainford CE is about how we experience the world around us and how that shapes the way we live. It’s also about our relationships—with ourselves, with others, with the wider world, and with God. Sometimes these moments make us stop and say ‘wow’, and other times they help us grow through challenge. Spiritual development encourages children to reflect, ask questions, and feel confident in exploring big ideas. It reminds us that everyone is unique and valued.

To help children understand their own spiritual journey, staff use simple language and visual symbols inspired by Liz Mills’ ‘Windows, Mirrors and Doors’ approach. These symbols are displayed in classroom reflection areas and around the school, helping children recognise and talk about their spiritual growth.

We recognise that spirituality looks different for every child. Some may find it through quiet reflection, while others experience it through creativity, sport, nature, or lively discussion. Whether it’s through art, football, music, or stillness, each child’s spiritual journey is unique and valued.
